Surimi spread (crab sticks)

Surimi spread (crab sticks)

Surimi, often called crab sticks, has little in common with crab meat – it is usually a product made from white fish. In this spread, they are joined by boiled eggs, butter and mayonnaise, which provide a creamy consistency. Even those who are not normally big fans of fish should try it.

Ingredients · Servings 1 dose
  • 250 g surimi (crab sticks)
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 onion
  • 1/3 butter
  • 200 ml mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 2 triangles of processed cheese
  • salt
  • ground pepper
Method · 15 min
  1. Boil the eggs hard in salted water.
  2. Mix the softened butter with mayonnaise, cheese and mustard using a whisk.
  3. Blend the surimi and onion, for example with an immersion blender, until smooth, then add the peeled eggs and blend again.
  4. A thick paste will form and we add it to the prepared mixture and mix thoroughly.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve on bread alone, or use as a base for sandwiches and canapés.
