Club Mexicana to open permanent site in Soho

Club Mexicana to open permanent site in Soho

Mexican-Californian inspired vegan street food brand Club Mexicana is set to open its first permanent site in March. Founded 5 years ago, the opening follows successful residencies in Hackney and within vegan pub The Spread Eagle.

The food offering is inspired by the street side taquerias of Los Angeles and Mexico City, serving a selection of tacos and small plates designed to share. The menu will feature dishes such as the beer battered tofish taco and the cheezeburger taco loaded with ‘beef’ burger, red pepper queso, dill pickle and annatto mayo. There will also be nachos and tostadas on offer, as well as queso flameado, a Mexican fondue of vegan cheese topped with a spicy chorizo substitute. Diners can also enjoy Club Mexicana’s classic burritos, including the MFC, a Mexican fried chick’n burrito.

The bar will serve a selection of cocktails, wines and Mexican beers, alongside margaritas and grapefruit palomas served on tap. Club Mexicana’s frozen margarita collaboration with Square Root Soda will also be available. Alongside tables and bar seating, in the summer months there will be an outdoor seating area.

Commenting on the opening, Armitage says “We’re so excited to open our very first restaurant in the heart of Soho. We’re looking forward to doing what Club Mexicana does best- great vibes, lots of tacos and banging cocktails. We’ll be dishing up more tacos than ever before, as well as our biggest street food hits and favourite dishes. It’s going to be a lot of fun!”

Shelley Webb, head of group residential and Kingly Court adds “We are delighted to welcome Club Mexicana to Carnaby’s food hub, Kingly Court.”

Club Mexicana Taqueria will open in March at Kingly Court, Kingly Street, Soho, London, W1B 5PW.
