Golden Lentil Soup. One Plate Won't Be Enough
A nutritious, healthy, and flavorful golden lentil soup. You can make it in just half an hour with basic ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen. Perfect for chilly autumn and winter.

- a glass of red lentils
- 4 medium-sized potatoes
- 2 carrots
- 2 onions
- 2 cloves of garlic
- a tablespoon of clarified butter
- half a teaspoon of curry powder
- half a teaspoon of turmeric

Method · 1 h
- Cook the red lentils according to the instructions on the package.
- Peel the brown onions and dice them. Heat a tablespoon of clarified butter in a pot. Add the onion to the heated fat and sauté over low heat until golden brown.
- Peel the potatoes and carrots and dice them finely. Transfer the vegetables to the pot with the sautéed onion. Add the pressed garlic. Sauté for about 5 minutes. Then add a liter of water. Cook until the vegetables are tender.
- Add the cooked lentils and spices—curry, turmeric, salt, and pepper—to the vegetable broth. Simmer the golden lentil soup for about 5-10 minutes.
- You can serve the soup with crispy croutons or bread. It tastes delicious thickened with cream. You can also blend it into a smooth cream. Enjoy!
