Mug cake

A quick and simple mug cake that you can bake for breakfast for your family or for coffee with guests. You can prepare it with a minimum of utensils, even at your cottage. Thanks to the two-tone dough, it will not only taste great, but also look great.

Ingredients · Servings 1 where
  • Dough:
  • 2 cups of semi-coarse flour
  • 1 cup of milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 baking powder
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • raisins (optional)
  • cocoa (to taste)
  • Further:
  • fat (for greasing the mold)
  • coarse flour (for lining the mold)
Method · 1 h 5 min
  1. Grease a cake tin and sprinkle with coarse flour. Preheat the oven to 170 °C.
  2. Mix all the ingredients for the dough (except cocoa) together in a bowl. Add raisins to taste.
  3. Take half of the finished dough and color it with cocoa. Add the amount of cocoa according to taste and desired color.
  4. In the prepared pan, alternately layer light and dark dough. The last layer should be light dough.
  5. Place the pan in a preheated oven and bake at 170°C for about 45–50 minutes. Check with a skewer to make sure the dough is cooked through.
  6. After baking, leave the cake in the tin for a while and then carefully turn it out. Let it cool completely and cut into slices. You can sprinkle the cake with sugar before serving.
