Couscous porridge with milk

Couscous porridge with milk

This crumbly, sweet couscous porridge with milk is a wonderful option for a quick, healthy, filling, and delicious breakfast or snack for the whole family. Making couscous with milk is easy, as the grain doesn't require any cooking—just pour hot milk over the couscous and let it steep for a bit.

To prepare this you will need the following ingredients.

Pour boiling water over the raisins or dried cherries/cranberries and let them steep for 5-7 minutes while you prepare the remaining ingredients.

Measure the milk into a small saucepan or saucepan. Add ground cinnamon, vanilla sugar, and a pinch of salt, and bring the mixture almost to a boil.

Turn off the heat and melt the butter in the hot milk. Add the couscous and mix thoroughly.

Cover the couscous with a lid and let it sit for 5-7 minutes. Once the couscous has absorbed all the milk and expanded, fluff the mixture with a fork.

While the couscous is steeping, stir-fry a handful of walnuts in a dry frying pan for a few minutes until fragrant.

Cut the dried apricots and toasted nuts into large pieces.

Drain the raisins/dried cranberries. Add the prepared dried apricots, raisins/cranberries, and nuts to the couscous. Season the porridge with honey or sugar to taste.

Divide the porridge among bowls and, if desired, thin with milk to the desired consistency.

The couscous porridge with milk is ready.
