Sushi from a famous Tokyo restaurant arrives in a building in the center of Rome (for two weeks only)
From August 7th to 23rd, the Hatsune Zushi pop-up arrives at Pacifico Roma inside Palazzo Dama, offering sushi and Ayurvedic treatments in the underground spa.
Just steps from Piazza del Popolo, in a peaceful garden with a pool and lush greenery, Palazzo Dama offers a series of events dedicated to wellness and cuisine this summer. From Ayurvedic treatments to signature sushi, the Roman hotel is hosting one of the most respected names in Japanese gastronomy for two weeks, with a temporary, limited-entry formula.
Hatsune Zushi's pop-up at Pacifico Roma
From August 7th to 23rd, the Pacifico Roma restaurant will host a pop-up of Hatsune Zushi, a historic Tokyo restaurant established in 1889 and now led by master chef Katsu Nakaji. Two of his disciples are in Rome to offer a special menu featuring nigiri (€10-€20) and temaki (€12-€20) prepared freshly in front of guests (both inside and outside the establishment), with counter service and limited seating.
Hatsunezushi is considered a benchmark for Japanese haute cuisine: its arrival in Rome represents an extension of the project already underway this year at Ronin Milano, the multi-faceted restaurant designed by the same group. The experience offered at Palazzo Dama maintains the original structure of the Japanese restaurant: limited seating, a slow pace, and meticulous attention to detail. The menu changes nightly based on the availability of ingredients, and preparation takes place in real time, in an intimate, refined yet informal setting.
Pacifico Roma's summer menu
Alongside the pop-up offerings, Pacifico (which we mentioned in a previous article) remains open, the hotel's seasonal restaurant, Pacifico, dedicated to Nikkei cuisine (a format also found in Milan and Porto Cervo, but has also found fertile ground in the capital, thanks in part to the evocative setting of Palazzo Dama, with its beautiful pool). The menu includes dishes like ceviche, gyoza, langostino tacos, and other preparations that combine Japanese and South American ingredients, served in a smart format with seasonal vegetables and a glass of Franciacorta.
Daham Spa: Ayurvedic treatments and holistic medicine
Meanwhile, throughout the month of August, the Daham Spa wellness program, the hotel's underground space dedicated to holistic medicine, is also available. Among Bisazza mosaics and Roman travertine, personalized Ayurvedic treatments, energy rituals, and massages designed to rebalance body and mind alternate. The programs are based on an analysis of your vital energy and use select essential oils. This program is open to both hotel guests and the general public, with reservations required.
