See Inside Fable Lounge, West End’s Distinguished New Cocktail Bar

West End’s distinguished new cocktail lounge and piano bar opens tomorrow. Fable Lounge, located at 114 28th Avenue North, starts serving throwback drinks and modern American plates on Saturday, January 18 from a speakeasy-style space.

On the menu cheese and charcuterie boards, whipped goat cheese, meatballs, and more alongside classic cocktails and a cast of local Tennessee brews.

Neutral colors, dark, dimly lit walls, and pops of gold other well-placed color set the scene — a nod to the 20’s era with a modern twist. Works of literature and a candle placed in a teacup were handpicked for the lounge. Fable’s co-owners Ben Powell and John Dibble personally designed the space — which spans two floors, with a mezzanine and upstairs patio. An expansive piano lounge and luxurious booths await on the dimly lit interior, and outside is a patio cigar lounge, all part of a historic building with a modern addition. Chesterfield couches and smooth velvet seating is featured throughout, surrounded by intricate wallpaper, wall lighting, and overhead chandeliers to set the upscale scene. A map from local artist Holly Carden sits between the mezzazine and the staircase. They plan to add more of her artwork to the space soon. From opening through February, Fable Lounge will also be donating a percentage of all small plate sales to The Nashville Food Project. Starting Saturday, January 18, Fable Lounge will be open daily from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
