Neighborlily, a Hybrid Coffee Bar and Floral Shop, Opens in Germantown

Germantown has added a new neighborhood coffee shop to its growing roster — but this one’s not your typical Nashville java joint. Neighborlily, which opened its doors last Tuesday, is part cafe, part floral shop.

But the cafe, which boasts a few indoor bar seats and a serene patio shaded by century-old crepe myrtles, holds its own with artisanal coffee and tea drinks lattes including the Hey Neighbor latte with spiced brown sugar syrup and salted maple whipped cream; the Oaxacan Mocha with Mexican chocolate, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper; and the Jade Matcha with rose syrup.

Food options include a variety of pastries (including gluten-free cookies, scones, croissants, and bread), salads, a rotating soup of the day, and a cheese board with an assortment of jams, crackers, and nuts.

The new shop and cafe is open Tuesday through Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Loews launches an afternoon tea service for hot chocolate

Mason Bar inside Loews Vanderbilt Hotel will launch its newest experience, A Hot Chocolate Affair, on Friday, February 2. The event is a twist on a traditional afternoon tea service that will be available every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through February and March.

Ornate teapots will be filled with a hot chocolate of your choosing — milk chocolate, white chocolate, or dark chocolate — along with a selection of gourmet toppings like marshmallows, peppermint sticks, caramels, white chocolate shavings, and ganache-dipped spoons. Instead of your typical cucumber sandwiches, expect a tiered tray filled with bite-sized cheesecakes, pastries, and macarons.

Pricing for A Hot Chocolate Affair is $65 for guests 11 years and older, $45 for children 4 to 10 years of age, and complimentary for those three and under. Reservations must be confirmed at least 24 hours in advance and can be booked by calling 615-320-1700 or visiting Resy and selecting a “lunch” timeslot between 1 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. for a two-hour service.
