I've stopped frying eggs: I now use a regular cup and they're twice as good

Do you usually pull out your frying pan every time you want to cook eggs? There's a much simpler method that saves time and reduces washing up. With a container you probably already have in your kitchen and just a few minutes, your eggs can be ready without even turning on the stove.

  • Preparing eggs without a pan is possible thanks to a quick method using a cup and a microwave.
  • This technique simplifies cooking by avoiding the use of fat and reduces washing up.
  • A practical tip that could transform your morning routine with simplicity and efficiency.

Craving warm, delicious eggs without getting out the pan or watching them cook? A simple mug and a microwave are all you need to prepare eggs in minutes, with almost no washing up. This simple trick might just shake up your breakfast routine.

A quick method that requires less washing up

Heat the pan, add butter or oil, wait until it's hot enough, then keep a close eye on the egg white to prevent it from sticking… Making fried eggs can quickly become more involved than you might think. However, there's a much quicker and more convenient method: cooking them directly in a mug in the microwave.

This technique has one major advantage: it avoids frying the eggs in oil or fat. And the results are equally impressive when it comes to washing up. No pan or spatula to clean; the eggs are prepared and eaten in the same container.

Two minutes in the microwave and it's ready.

The principle of eggs in a cup is particularly simple. For one person, take a cup or other suitable container and crack two eggs into it. Then add salt, pepper, and the herbs of your choice. Basil, thyme, herbes de Provence, or even bay leaf: it's up to you to personalize the recipe according to what you have on hand.

Don't hesitate to sprinkle in some exotic spices for added originality. Then cover each container with microwave-safe film, but don't seal it completely. Make a small hole to allow steam to escape during cooking.

Then all you have to do is place the cups in the microwave for about two minutes. Be aware, however, that microwave power can vary, so it's best to check their texture and the cooking progress before automatically starting a new cooking time.

In total, allow just a few minutes for preparation and only about two minutes for cooking. With minimal effort and minimal washing up, you get warm, fragrant eggs without having to stand over the stove. And, for a change of pace, you can switch up the herbs from one cup to the next.

So, this is exactly the kind of handy little trick to keep in mind for those rushed mornings or when you really don't feel like cooking. A mug, two eggs, a few herbs and a microwave: it doesn't get much simpler than that.
