The bar in Madrid where you can try authentic Oktoberfest beers

If traveling to Munich for Oktoberfest has always been on your wish list, Malasaña has the solution without you having to board a plane.

The main course is served in a glass: they'll have five of the six original beers. Yes, Festbier, the only beer you'll find in the festival tents. In addition, all the beers that are already part of their regular selection, such as the house brewery Leiner Pils and the smoky Schlenkerla from Bamberg, will be available, as well as bottles selected exclusively from small family breweries in the Upper Franconia region of Germany.

As the first ritual, a keg will be tapped with a mallet, containing one of the five beers created exclusively for this event and brought from Munich. Throughout the festival, the Leinerhaus bar is put in the hands of its customers, with a contest where they can design their own foam crown, and the one who does it best will win a case of beer. Quite a prize, isn't it?

Not to mention the food, with authentic barbarian dishes that, as every year, will feature a new addition. The restaurant creates a recipe where beer is one of the key ingredients, both in the preparation and the pairing. This time, they're debuting chicken breaded with spent grain and served with beer sauce, although they'll also have classics like pork knuckle and sausages, but with Leiner's own unique twist. And if you come in a group, there will be a perfect menu for you that includes these two dishes, plus the iconic strudel dessert, and, of course, the emblematic liter mug filled with Festbier.

But what makes this event so memorable is the atmosphere, the great beer, the live music, and the huge crowd ready to have a good time. So this year there's no excuse—you can't miss it!
