  • 150 g of sugar
  • 15 g of honey
  • 25 g of cocoa powder

Preparation of sweet morsels with chocolate custard

To make these balls of goodness, perfect for parties or as a sweet snack during the day, first start by preparing the custard. Transfer half the milk to a saucepan with the honey and sugar, bring to a boil, and simultaneously combine the cornstarch, cocoa powder, and the remaining milk in a bowl. Stir with a whisk or wooden spoon until thickened and reaches the desired consistency. Once ready, transfer to a small bowl with cling film on top and let cool completely to room temperature, then refrigerate until ready to use.

Now, beat the eggs and sugar with an electric mixer until they become frothy and light, add the milk in a thin stream and continue mixing, then add the flour, sifted baking powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt, mix everything until you obtain a smooth and homogeneous batter, cover with cling film and let it rest for 30 minutes.

After this time, prepare a high-sided pan with plenty of sunflower oil. Once it's hot, use two spoons to scoop out a small amount of batter and pour it into the oil. Fry evenly until golden brown. Drain on paper towels to remove any excess oil. Roll in sugar and repeat with the remaining pieces. Then, fill the morsels with the chocolate custard, arrange on a plate, and serve. Enjoy!
