If you're craving savory snails but dread the thought of making yeast dough, try this recipe. Garlic and cheese snails are easy, quick, and hassle-free to make. You'll love the soft, garlic-scented pastry filled with cheese.

Ingredients · Servings 1 dose
  • Dough:
  • 270 g plain flour
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking powder
  • 250 g semi-fat cottage cheese in a tub
  • 1 teaspoon garlic oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • Filling:
  • 100 g grated cheese
  • garlic oil
  • oregano
  • salt
Method · 50 min
  1. Mix the flour, baking powder and salt. Add the cottage cheese, a teaspoon of garlic oil and knead into a smooth and non-sticky dough.
  2. Preheat the oven to 200 °C in advance. Line a baking tray with baking paper or grease it with oil.
  3. Roll out the dough into a thin sheet on a lightly floured surface, brush with garlic oil mixed with oregano, and lightly salt as needed. Then sprinkle with cheese.
  4. Cut the dough into thin strips and roll them into snail shapes. Place them in a baking dish.
  5. Brush the top and sides of the snails with garlic oil mixed with oregano.
  6. Put in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes.
  7. After removing from the oven, brush the finished snails with garlic oil again.
