Kebab on a skewer

Kebab on a skewer

When you think of kebab, everyone thinks of a large piece of meat grilled on a special horizontal grill. This is not possible at home, so you can prepare it at home in a pan or on a grill, simply on a skewer.

Ingredients · Servings 12 pieces
  • 1 kg minced meat (mixture)
  • 5 cloves of garlic
  • 1/2 large onion
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 handfuls of chopped herbs (parsley, basil, chives)
  • salt (as needed)
  • frying oil
Method · 50 min
  1. Peel the onion and chop finely. Peel the garlic and mash it with a knife until smooth. Wash the herbs and chop roughly.
  2. Mix the minced meat (a mixture of beef and pork) with finely chopped onion, crushed garlic, eggs and salt to taste. Add herbs (the more, the better), which can be combined in various ways. For this amount of meat, add approximately 2 large handfuls of chopped herbs.
  3. Divide the mixture into 12 piles, shape each into a roll and insert a skewer into the center.
  4. Heat a little oil in a pan and fry the kebabs on all sides.
  5. You can also place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and put them under the grill for a while. The crust will crisp up nicely and they will stay warm if you don't serve them right away.
  6. Serve with vegetables, tartar sauce and bread or with potatoes cooked in any way.
