Honey tubes 2

Honey tubes 2

A popular filled cookie that is a must on the Christmas table. We roll a simple dough full of honey flavor into metal tubes. After baking, we dip them in chocolate, sprinkle with nuts, and after they have set, we fill them with cream with egg liqueur.

Ingredients · Servings 1 dose
  • Dough:
  • 500 g plain flour
  • 200 g powdered sugar
  • 1 pinch of baking soda
  • 200 g warmed honey
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 4 tablespoons milk
  • Further:
  • grease for lubricating metal tubes
  • To finish:
  • chocolate icing
  • cream with egg liqueur (or other)
Method · 1 h 37 min
  1. We make a dough from the above ingredients, wrap it in foil and let it rest in the refrigerator until the next day.
  2. Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Grease the metal tubes with grease.
  3. Roll out the risen dough into a thin sheet and cut into squares (depending on the size of the tubes). Roll the squares into greased tubes. Place on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake in the preheated oven for 6-7 minutes. Remove the tubes while they are still warm.
  5. Dip the cooled tubes into the heated icing at one end, let it harden, and then dip the other end.
  6. Place the tubes in the refrigerator and fill with cream after they have set.
