La Despensa de Madrid promotes local produce
Locally sourced products continue to gain importance among consumers and restaurateurs. In this context, the Community of Madrid has launched a new edition of La Despensa de Madrid (Madrid's Pantry), a traveling market that will visit different municipalities in the region to promote Madrid products and support local producers.
This initiative celebrates its 14th edition this year and will visit 19 locations between May and October, bringing food produced in the Community of Madrid and highlighting the quality of local and zero-kilometer products. This weekend and next, the market will be present in different locations throughout the Community of Madrid.
An appointment to discover Madrid's products
At each market stall, 20 outdoor tents will be set up, open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., where visitors can discover and purchase a wide variety of local products.
More than 50 companies will participate, taking turns each weekend, offering:
- Oils and olives
- Smoked
- Fresh meat
- Beers
- Chocolate
- Canned goods
- Cured meats
- Empanadas
- Fruits and vegetables
- Legumes
- Honey
- Bread and pastries

Furthermore, some of these producers hold the M Producto Certificado seal, which recognizes products grown or produced in the Community of Madrid. Also present will be products with quality designations such as Vinos de Madrid (Wines of Madrid), Aceite de Madrid (Madrid Olive Oil), Carne de la Sierra de Guadarrama (Beef from the Sierra de Guadarrama), Anís de Chinchón (Chinchón Anise), and Aceitunas de Campo Real (Campo Real Olives), along with certified organic producers.
An opportunity to bring producer and consumer closer together
The market aims to showcase the work of Madrid's agri-food companies and generate opportunities for local development.
