A world-famous American sub shop is winging its way across the Atlantic and opening its first-ever UK location in London
Something must be in the air in London- some kind of scent attracting globally famous food spots to open up in our city. Everything from a cult Italian sandwich vendor to a famed Australian frozen yoghurt spot has opened up on our streets.
The world-famous sub slingers will open their first-ever UK restaurant on Argyll Street in London’s West End in late autumn 2026.
If you somehow haven’t heard of Jersey Mike’s just yet, you’re sure to become well acquainted with them soon. In the United States and Canada, the fast food brand counts a whopping 3,300+ stores to its name. And the new location is just the first in a string of UK openings for the sandwich slingers.
Jersey Mike’s arrives in London
After more than 70 years developing a beloved reputation in America, Jersey Mike’s is coming to London. In doing so, they’re providing a taste of the States’ iconic sub culture – satisfying homesick Americans and curious Londoners alike.
Jersey Mike’s is opening its first-ever UK site in London in just a matter of months, but they’ve already got their eyes on even more sites. They have plans to open three more central London restaurants shortly afterwards. That’s right, by the end of the year, there could be as many as four spots in London to get your Jersey Mike’s fix.
And that’s just the beginning. It’s set to be a major rollout across the UK and Ireland for the brand’s famous fresh-sliced and grilled subs. There are plans for as many as 400 restaurants in the UK and Ireland in the coming years!
What’s the fuss?
So, why are fans so excited to see the store open up in London? Care goes into each order to ensure the sandwiches are “A Sub Above”. Sandwiches are made on the spot, and meats and cheeses are sliced fresh to order. Other ingredients are prepared fresh, and the bread is baked throughout the day. That way you can be sure you’re never getting a stale sub.
And then there’s ‘the juice’. Jersey Mike’s has become famous for finishing off its sandwich creations with a mix of red wine vinegar and oil. This has even led to the iconic ‘Mike’s Way’ order. Guests can choose their toppings and have it ‘Mike’s Way’, with onions, lettuce and tomatoes, finished with oil blend, red wine vinegar and spices. The order is synonymous with the brand and a go-to for die-hard fans.
So, what do you say? Are you ready to try a Jersey Mike’s sub with ‘the juice’?
