Greggs brings back 'legendary' bake after 7 years in Wales

Greggs is bringing back a "legendary" discontinued item after it was taken off the menu seven-years-ago. The popular high street bakery chain is reintroducing the item to its menu this week.
Greggs is relaunching the Steak and Stilton Bake from this week onwards despite new research commissioned by the bakery has revealed that more than a quarter (28%) of Brits avoid Stilton, while a further 11% have never sampled it.
The bakery chain explained that customers can simply purchase a Steak and Stilton Bake and taste it, and if they are not satisfied, they can return their half-eaten pastry to one of its 'Stilton Claims Advisors' at the till for an instant exchange with a Steak Bake, with "no forms, no fees, no hassle".
The scheme, which Greggs maintains is a first for the UK, is currently available across all Greggs outlets nationwide and follows research which found that 55% of British people think too many dismiss Stilton without giving it a proper chance.
Greggs is encouraging those who have never tried Stilton, or who have not enjoyed it previously, to give the returning bake a go, following findings that one in two Britons (51%) are trapped in a lunchtime routine, purchasing the same meal deal or consuming identical food far too regularly.
The Steak and Stilton Bake consists of diced beef in a rich gravy, combined with blue Stilton cheese and grilled onions, all encased in Greggs' signature flaky puff pastry with a black pepper crumb coating, reports Birmingham Live.
Zoe Harris, customer director at Greggs, said: "It's been seven long years, and while we know Steak and Stilton has a fiercely loyal fanbase, we get that there are still some Stilton sceptics out there. Blue cheese can be a bold sell, but we're so confident this bake will win people over that we're literally guaranteeing it.
"Consider this the ultimate taste test with zero risk, if you really can't stand the Stilton, our classic Steak Bake is on us, no questions asked."
