Soft and fluffy scones for breakfast, add chocolate chips and breakfast becomes magic

Soft and fluffy scones for breakfast, add chocolate chips and breakfast becomes magic

Today for breakfast I really outdid myself, I made some sweet focaccias that are absolutely delicious.

Breakfast is truly the most important meal of the day, which is why it should always be prepared in the best possible way, indulging in something sweet, perhaps homemade, which will make everything even more magical.

Recently, in fact, I thought about making some sweet chocolate-based focaccias with an incredibly good and inimitable flavor.

I'll reveal my recipe for chocolate scones.

Ever since I learned how to make chocolate chip scones, I must admit, I can't live without them. Once ready, they're instantly soft and crumbly, perfect for dunking in hot milk. In short, they're beautiful and delicious to eat, and they're made with the following recipe:

  • 400g flour
  • 250g water
  • 60g sugar
  • 30g butter
  • 8g dry butter, a pinch of salt

Here's how I prepare my focaccias

Yes, as we explained previously, these focaccias are not only irresistible, but also incredibly easy to make. So, let's get started right away by grabbing the 30g of butter, which should be left out of the refrigerator for half an hour to soften and become easier to work with by hand.

Next, place the dry ingredients—flour and sugar—in a bowl large enough to hold the ingredients. Meanwhile, heat the water slightly until it's just lukewarm, not even hot. This is where we'll dissolve the 7 grams of instant yeast.

Now, let's move on to working the dough with our beautiful hands. Using the water and yeast mixture, we combine all the ingredients, working vigorously until we obtain a smooth, compact dough. Once it's ready, we add the chocolate chips, which will then become one with the dough. Place the dough in a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise for about 60 minutes.

After the required time, we take the dough and shape it into small loaves. Then, we add a mixture of water and sugar, which we brush onto the surface. Let the loaves rest for another 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) in fan-assisted mode. Once it's hot, bake the focaccia for about 20 minutes, until golden brown. Once baked, let them cool slightly and serve while still warm... your focaccia will make breakfast a real success!
