Ruby Slipper Adds First Pasta Dish as Part of Fall Menu Rollout

Autumn is ushering in several seasonal delights at Ruby Slipper, as the New Orleans-born breakfast and lunch café adds a new savory option, breakfast savings and plenty of pumpkin.

“Pumpkin is usually associated with the sweeter side of fall, but it’s a surprisingly versatile ingredient,”

Headlining the fall menu is the debut of Ruby Slipper’s first pasta dish, Pumpkin Ravioli. The savory item (priced at $16.50) pairs cheese ravioli tossed in a creamy pumpkin sauce with bacon and Parmesan, then topped with roasted pepitas for a hearty crunch.

By popular demand, the limited-time Patty Melt ($15) earns an extended stay after becoming a September favorite. The double smashed beef patty is layered with American cheese, pepper jack, caramelized onion and remoulade, then griddled on sourdough for a crisp, melty finish.

Weekday morning guests will enjoy the new Rise & Ruby Sunrise Special, a $10 offer available in-restaurant Monday through Friday from 7-9 a.m. The special includes the Sunrise Standard — two eggs any style, your choice of Bacon, pork sausage or chicken sausage, a buttermilk pancake and fruit — plus a hot or iced coffee.

“We always want to give our guests more reasons to choose Ruby throughout the week,” said Chef Marla Chua, culinary director for Ruby Slipper. “We’re always thinking about how we can build on what guests already love while creating room to try something different. This time, that meant extending an overwhelmingly popular lunch item and finding a way to add value for guests looking to start their day with us midweek.”

In addition to its new pasta dish, Ruby Slipper is giving pumpkin its annual moment with new Pumpkin Praline Beignets ($7.25). Its signature warm beignets are topped with pumpkin mascarpone and pecan praline sauce, and finished with raspberry pomegranate coulis. The combination layers creamy pumpkin and toasted praline with a bright fruit note cutting through the richness.

“Pumpkin is usually associated with the sweeter side of fall, but it’s a surprisingly versatile ingredient,” Chua added. “We wanted to play with that this year and show how well it can work in both sweet and savory forms.”

The fall lineup also includes Pumpkin Bread Pudding Pancakes ($12.50), topped with spiced pecan praline sauce and whipped pumpkin mascarpone.

On the drink menu, the Pumpkin Spice Latte ($6.50) combines espresso, pumpkin spice syrup, milk and whipped cream, while the Pumpkin Cream Chai Latte ($6.50) pairs chai tea with milk and cream, topped with pumpkin-infused cold foam. For something bubbly, the Whipped Raspberry Pomegranate Mimosa ($10) blends raspberry and pomegranate purée with lemon, coconut and sparkling wine, topped with cold foam.

Ruby Slipper’s fall menu will be available at participating locations beginning Sept. 30, while supplies last.
