Pumpkin compote

Pumpkin compote

Compotes don't have to be made only from fruit, pumpkin compote is very popular. Flavored with pineapple aroma, it will be especially popular with children. Try making this pumpkin delicacy and serve it with roasted poultry, for example.

Ingredients · Servings 1 dose
  • 3 kg of cleaned pumpkin
  • 750 g caster sugar
  • 1.5 liters of water
  • 3 teaspoons citric acid
  • 3-4 teaspoons pineapple flavoring
Method · 1 h 20 min
  1. Peel the pumpkin, hollow it out and weigh 3 kg, which we cut into cubes.
  2. Place in a large container and cover with sugar. Add water, citric acid, pineapple flavoring and mix.
  3. Let it stand for two hours and then cook it in a pot until it is glassy.
  4. Pour the still hot compote into clean jars, wipe the necks, seal with clean lids and sterilize for 20 minutes at 85 °C.
