Potato pancakes with minced meat

Potato pancakes with minced meat

Potato pancakes are a favorite across generations, and you can make them special by adding meat. This makes them a less common, interesting dish. Whether with pork or poultry, they will definitely taste delicious!

Ingredients · Servings 4
  • 500 g peeled potatoes
  • 250 g minced meat (pork, mix or poultry)
  • 1 egg
  • salt
  • ground pepper
  • 3-4 cloves of garlic
  • marjoram
  • crushed cumin
  • 2 tablespoons plain flour
  • oil (or lard) for frying
Method · 50 min
  1. Finely grate the potatoes into a bowl. Add the minced meat, egg, salt and spices to taste, just like for classic potato pancakes. If you want, you can also use spices for minced meat.
  2. Mix the mixture thoroughly and, depending on how floury or watery the potatoes are, add plain flour to thicken.
  3. Scoop a spoonful of the mixture into a frying pan with hot fat and fry on both sides until golden and crispy.
  4. Serve separately as a main course, perhaps with sauerkraut or a glass of chilled beer.
