Cabbage, minced meatballs and potatoes in one baking dish

Cabbage, minced meatballs and potatoes in one baking dish

Housewives love easy recipes because they save them time, effort, and dishes. We'll prepare cabbage, potatoes, and minced meatballs for our family in one baking dish. While the food is simmering in the oven, we have time for ourselves.

Ingredients · Servings 4
  • 1 small head of cabbage
  • 150 g English bacon
  • 5 medium potatoes
  • 1 cup of cream
  • 1 onion
  • salt
  • caraway seeds
  • Balls:
  • 400 g minced pork
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 2 shallots
  • 1 teaspoon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • salt
  • ground pepper
  • ground cumin
Method · 1 h 30 min
  1. Cut the cabbage into strips. Peel the onion and cut it into strips. Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
  2. Place both in a baking dish, add salt and cumin, mix and let rest.
  3. Meanwhile, peel and cut the potatoes into larger pieces and the bacon into cubes.
  4. Mix the meat with all the ingredients and season. Take it in your hand a few times and slap it forcefully into the bowl, it will come together nicely. Then, with wet hands, form it into balls.
  5. Salt the potatoes, mix them with the cabbage in a baking dish, and place the meatballs between them.
  6. Sprinkle the surface with bacon and pour in the cream. Cover the baking dish and place in a preheated oven at 200 °C.
  7. Bake for about 40–45 minutes. Then uncover and finish baking until golden brown. Turn the balls halfway through baking.
  8. Mix the finished dish and serve.
