Bread with apples

Bread with apples

Bread roll is a great dish that can be used to make older pastries. Whether rolls or loaves, just cut them into slices, soak them in milk, and then put them in a mold with slices of juicy apples. After baking, the kitchen will smell of cinnamon and vanilla.

Ingredients · Servings 6
  • 750 g apples
  • 6-8 rolls (or 1/2 a loaf)
  • 100 g butter
  • 250 ml milk
  • 2-3 eggs
  • icing sugar
  • vanilla sugar
  • cinnamon
  • breadcrumbs
  • nuts
  • butter for greasing the mold
Method · 30 min
  1. Peel the apples, remove the core and cut them into thin slices. Cut the rolls or the lid into slices as well. If you have rolls, just cut them in half lengthwise. Then soak the pastry in milk with a beaten egg.
  2. Place a layer of pastry slices on the bottom of a greased baking dish (cut side up), then a layer of apples on top, sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon, then place more pastry slices and continue alternating until all the rolls are used up. The last layer is pastry slices.
  3. Pour the milk and egg mixture over the bun, drizzle with melted butter and sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Bake in a medium oven until golden brown.
  4. Sprinkle the finished bun with sugar mixed with vanilla sugar.
