JRE Young Week, four weeks to introduce under-30s to fine dining

JRE Young Week, four weeks to introduce under-30s to fine dining

Four weeks, JRE restaurants throughout Italy, and a 30% discount reserved for those under 30. This is the formula with which Jeunes Restaurateurs Italia is launching JRE Young Week, a project designed to introduce younger generations to fine dining and create a more direct relationship between young customers and restaurateurs. The initiative will begin in the fall of 2026 and continue until Febru

JRE Young Week, four weeks between October 2026 and February 2027

The calendar includes four events. The first week will take place from October 19 to 25, 2026, followed by the second from November 16 to 22. After the Christmas break, the project will resume from January 25 to 31, 2027, and conclude from February 22 to 28. During these weeks, participating JRE restaurants will welcome diners under 30 with a 30% discount on their bill, excluding wines and other beverages. Participation will be subject to availability at individual locations and the reservation procedures established by each restaurant.

JRE Young Week: all the events

  • October 19-25, 2026
  • November 16-22, 2026
  • January 25-31, 2027
  • February 22-28, 2027

The formula therefore aims to address one of the aspects that can impact young people's access to fine dining: the cost of the experience. But the project also aims to foster a more direct dialogue between the world of contemporary cuisine and a segment of the public that will represent a significant portion of future demand.

Fine dining and young people: JRE focuses on tomorrow's audiences

For Jeunes Restaurateurs Italia, bringing young people under 30 into the restaurant business isn't just about increasing the number of young customers, but also creating an opportunity for mutual understanding. On one side, there are chefs and restaurateurs; on the other, a generation with different habits, expectations, and consumption styles. "With JRE Young Week, we want to address a generation that too often considers fine dining a distant experience or reserved for a select few. We believe, instead, that introducing young people to our understanding of hospitality and quality is an investment in the future of Italian restaurants: our chefs and our dining rooms need to engage with our future audiences," explains Alberto Basso, president of JRE-Italia. The project is thus part of a broader reflection on the relationship between accessibility, customer education, and the future of restaurants. The goal is not only to bring new customers to restaurants, but to foster greater understanding of a sector that encompasses kitchens, dining rooms, hospitality, and various professional skills.

The second part of the project also examines the changes affecting the sector and new consumer expectations. "The restaurant industry," Basso added, "is changing, and with it, the demands of those seeking a memorable experience. For us, looking to the new generations means observing the future of the sector from both perspectives: that of young people entering the profession, bringing new skills, sensibilities, and languages, and that of a generation of customers expressing different expectations regarding the gastronomic experience, hospitality, and the relationship with the restaurant. As an association, we feel a responsibility to listen to this change and to create a dialogue between generations, without losing the values of quality, hospitality, and research that are part of our identity. JRE Young Week represents a concrete opportunity in this direction: opening the doors of our restaurants, allowing young people to gain a closer understanding of the world of contemporary dining, and, at the same time, giving our members the opportunity to meet and better understand the audience that will shape their future."

How to participate in JRE Young Week

The list of participating restaurants is available on the JRE-Italia website and in the association's digital guide in the JRE Inside+ app. To receive the discount, you must indicate your participation in JRE Young Week when booking, following the procedures established by the individual restaurant. The initiative is therefore based on a common formula, but leaves the management of reservations and availability to the individual establishments. Updates on participation will also be communicated through the association's channels.

For those under 30, the four weeks thus become an opportunity to get to know restaurants and chefs through an experience that, at least in the intentions of JRE Italia, aims to bridge the gap between fine dining and the new generations.
