Homemade minced meatballs

Homemade minced meatballs

Honest homemade meatloaf stuffed with eggs, sausage and pickles is a classic that never disappoints. We work the meat mixture thoroughly, fill it and bake it until golden brown. It tastes great with mashed potatoes or cold with bread.

Ingredients · Servings 1 dose
  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 egg
  • 1-2 tablespoons breadcrumbs
  • 1-2 tablespoons plain flour
  • 1 pinch of marjoram
  • 1 large clove of garlic (pressed)
  • salt (as needed)
  • ground pepper (as needed)
  • Filling:
  • 2 sausage legs
  • 4 eggs (hard-boiled)
  • 4 pickles
  • For rubbing:
  • 1 egg
Method · 2 h
  1. Place the minced meat in a bowl. Add the egg, breadcrumbs, plain flour, marjoram, crushed garlic, salt and ground pepper.
  2. We mix all the ingredients thoroughly to create a compact meat mixture.
  3. Cut the pickles lengthwise.
  4. Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  5. Spread a piece of cling film on your work surface and spread the meat mixture onto it in the shape of a rectangle.
  6. Place the boiled eggs, sausages and pickles next to each other in the middle.
  7. Using foil, carefully wrap the mixture and shape it into a meatball cone. Gently press the finished meatball several times to remove any air inside.
  8. Transfer the meatloaf to a baking sheet or baking dish.
  9. Beat the egg with a fork and brush the surface of the meatloaf with it.
  10. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for approximately 90 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Serve with boiled potatoes, potato salad, mashed potatoes, salad or vegetable garnish.
