Dumplings for single gentlemen

Dumplings for single gentlemen

Do you like dumplings, but don't have the time or the mood for the tedious preparation of classic potato or bread dumplings? Try this potato and roll variation. They are so simple that even single gentlemen can prepare them.

Ingredients · Servings 1
  • 1 hard roll
  • 1 medium potato
  • 1 onion
  • bacon (to taste)
  • 1 sausage (optional)
Method · 35 min
  1. Peel the potato and grate it on a fine grater.
  2. Then finely grate the hard roll, mix it with the potato, lightly salt it and make a compact dough.
  3. Shape the dough into walnut-sized dumplings and place them in boiling salted water. When they float to the surface, they are ready.
  4. Cut the bacon into small cubes and slowly fry it in a pan. Then add the finely chopped onion and fry until translucent. If you want, you can also add sausage.
  5. Serve the finished dumplings while still warm, topped with fried onions and bacon.
