Pizza with tuna and olives

Pizza with tuna and olives

Due to the rich taste of the ingredients used for this recipe, tuna and olive pizza is one of our favorites. The infernal heat this summer did not allow me to make it as often as in previous years, so I was eagerly waiting for cooler days for this wonderful pizza with tuna fillet in sunflower oil from Lotka.

Tuna and olive pizza – Ingredients for a 32 cm pizza

Dough ingredients

  • 250 g flour
  • 150 ml what
  • 6 g fresh yeast + ¼ teaspoon sugar
  • 6g salt
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

Topping ingredients

  • 1 can of Lotka tuna fillet in sunflower oil (200 g)
  • 150 ml tomato sauce + ¼ teaspoon sugar + ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ½ medium red onion
  • 150 g mozzarella for pizza
  • 7-8 pitted black olives
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano

How to prepare pizza dough

  • Place the flour in a large bowl. Rub the yeast with the sugar and mix it with 150 ml of warm water (be careful, the water should be around 36°C, no more).
  • Place the yeast in the center of the flour and begin to knead. When the dough has a firm consistency, add the oil and salt and knead until you get an elastic dough that no longer sticks to your hands.
  • Place the pizza dough in a bowl, lightly greased with olive oil, and cover with plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm place, away from drafts, until it doubles in size (about 60 minutes).

How to make topping for tuna pizza

  • Mix the tomato sauce with the salt, sugar and oregano.
  • Cut the olives and onion into thin slices, drain the tuna fillet and crush it with a fork into smaller pieces, cut the mozzarella into suitable cubes.

How to make pizza with tuna and olives

  • Turn the yeast dough out onto a floured work surface and roll it out with your hand into a round sheet, about 1 cm thick.
  • I baked the pizza on a baking stone. In this case, we proceed as follows: We put the baking stone in the cold oven and set the temperature to 220°C. In the meantime, we spread the pizza with the tomato sauce, then evenly distribute the onion, olives, tuna and mozzarella pieces over the entire surface of the pizza.
  • When the stone is hot, open the oven and place the pizza, using a spatula, directly on the hot stone. Bake for about 10 minutes or until the mozzarella is completely melted.
  • For pizza baked in an oven tray, preheat the oven to 220°C, place the dough in a tray lightly greased with olive oil, spread with tomato juice and evenly distribute the onion, olives and tuna. Place the tray in the oven, bake the pizza for about 6-7 minutes, then open the oven and add the mozzarella pieces. Continue baking the pizza for another 4-5 minutes, or until the mozzarella has completely melted.
  • We serve the tuna and olive pizza immediately, it is delicious! Even cold it is very, very good.

Enjoy your meal!
