Blueberry-Blackberry Smoothie

Blueberry-Blackberry Smoothie

Ingredients · Servings 1
  • Blackberry
  • Blueberry
  • Orange
  • Crushed ice
  • Honey
  • Natural yogurt 6%
  • Granulated sugar
Method · 15 min
  1. Crush the blueberries for serving. Dip the rim of a large glass in the resulting juice. Then immediately dip it in sugar to create a rim, and refrigerate the glass.
  2. Juice the orange. Pour the yogurt into a blender, then add the orange juice, honey, blueberries, and blackberries. If the blueberries are fresh, you can add some ice (frozen blueberries should be added without thawing). Blend until smooth. Carefully pour into the prepared glass, being careful not to break the sugar rim.
  3. Garnish with kumquat slices. Serve immediately with a straw.

This blueberry-blackberry smoothie is a thick smoothie where the berry tartness and orange sweetness work together. Blueberries add color, blackberries provide a subtle tartness and distinctive aroma, and orange juice thins the thickness and adds citrus freshness. The base is natural drinking yogurt, which makes the smoothie filling without being heavy. Honey softens the berry acidity without overpowering the flavor. The signature serving feature is the sugar rim on the glass: the rim is dipped in crushed berries and then in sugar, creating a crispy edge that contrasts with the smooth drink. This blueberry-blackberry smoothie is ready in minutes and requires nothing more than a blender.
