Lorenzo Díaz will be appointed Magister Fenavin

The National Wine Fair offers each year a space for recognition, in which people who contribute with their work to the dissemination of the benefits of wine or to the promotion of the sector are honored, thanked and applauded.

Within that space, on May 9, Lorenzo Díaz, sociologist and communicator, advisor to Fenavin since its first edition, will be named 'Magister Fenavin' at 6:00 p.m. in the Wine Gallery.

Lorenzo Díaz, a native of Puertollano (Ciudad Real), is a regular journalist and analyst on Spanish radio. His published books include one commemorating 50 years of Spanish television; the memoirs of Custodio Zamarra; a portrait of Baroque gastronomy; and a book on the dishes of Don Quixote.

More square meters and no more tents

This year the fair boasts a brand-new exhibition space, thanks to an expansion of the facilities. It will be the first Fenavin in its 22-year history to be held in a single venue, without tents in the parking area or along the sides of the pavilion. “The Ciudad Real fair complex is now the most modern, versatile, and innovative in southern Spain, with 31,640 square meters of exhibition space out of a total of 34,000,” the organizers stated.

According to José Manuel Caballero, president of the Provincial Council and of the National Wine Fair, this year's event will bring together buyers "from 102 countries, with a record 4,300 international and 14,700 national buyers." This figure represents a 2.5% increase compared to last year, exceeding 1,900 exhibitors.

This edition will feature around 80 activities including technical and institutional sessions, tastings, business proposals, international promotion and economics, talks and conferences.
