Repsol Guide chooses the best spots to savor summer

Tomatoes that taste of sunshine, glowing embers, and clinking glasses overlooking the sea. With the arrival of warmer weather, Guía Repsol launches a new edition of its Summer Spots: more than 260 bars, terraces, beach bars, and hidden gems where you can eat well and feel even better.

This selection—the twelfth since the launch of this ranking—aims to discover or rediscover those places that locals wholeheartedly recommend, even if they're sometimes reluctant to reveal them. Terraces shaded by pine trees, secret patios in the heart of the city, or beach bars right on the shore: anything goes if the food is delicious and the atmosphere makes you want to stay.

“Los Soletes have become a summer staple, because they save you from having to search for places to go and reveal places you didn't have on your radar, with the guarantee of being selected by a team of experts with a gastronomic criterion that coincides with that of most people,” explains María Ritter, director of Guía Repsol.

This summer's culinary offerings gaze—literally—towards the horizon. In locations as diverse as the rugged Hoyo beach in Águilas (Murcia), the legendary Bartolo in San Fernando (Cádiz), or the natural viewpoint of Cabo Busto in Luarca (Asturias), the gastronomic experience blends seamlessly with the landscape. And beyond the coast, there are surprises inland: Pyrenean mountain huts in Huesca, hidden gardens in the Sierra de Santa Cruz (Cáceres), or kiosks beside protected lagoons in Badajoz.

With nearly 5,000 establishments already recognized since the launch of this initiative, Soletes has established itself as the informal and useful guide for summer: honest, appealing, and soulful suggestions. Because on vacation, few things are as pleasurable as finding that place where you want to linger a little longer, order an extra round, and toast with whoever is next to you.
