A Vintage Champagne Bar With Rat Pack Vibes and Nightly Entertainment Debuts

A new Champagne bar with live entertainment opens today on Sammy Davis Jr. Drive. Eduardo Cordova, who has The Garden in the Arts District, debuts Star Piano Cocktail Lounge in the historical former Sonny’s Saloon.

The cocktail lounge features a velvet banquette and a vintage chandelier, with renovations that include hidden treasures meant to be discovered such as an homage to the late gossip columnist Robin Leach and bar stools with golden name plates of Vegas stars and starlets.

Cordova promises a vintage lounge that takes customers back to the Rat Pack era with a modern twist. Cocktails, of course, use bubbly wines. The Starstruck combines Campo Viejo Rose Cava, Absolut Watermelon, Aperol, cranberry, and lemon, garnished with electric dust; Strawberry Fields uses Perrier Jouet, muddled strawberries, Campari, and lemon, garnished with lemon and strawberry slice; and Down the Rabbit Hole mixes GH Mumm, Rabbit Hole Cavehill, mint sprigs, bitters, and a dash of Absinthe.

Entertainment director Chris Lash plans to bring a roster of live music to the stage with a lineup of singers such as Josh Strickland, Ruby Lewis, Travis Cloer, and Savannah Smith, accompanied by rotating pianists Sarah Hester Ross, Andrew Tyler, Mike Spadoni, Mike Fretbrandt, and Nicholas Connell performing nightly on a red baby grand piano.
