After nearly 20 years of slinging Southern fare in the Bishop Arts District, stalwart Dallas restaurant Hattie’s has closed its doors. According to CultureMap, the restaurant served its final meals on February 16, and claimed that its closure was temporary before reportedly telling its now-former employees “not to bother showing up.” Amid its departure, some of the restaurant’s vendors and workers claim that owner Tony Alvarez owes them money.

FC Dallas scores solid new dining options

When the Major League Soccer season kicks off on February 29 at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, fans of FC Dallas will have plenty of new snacks to eat during the match. Per a press release announcing the Stadium’s new dining options, diners can look forward to dishes like beef short rib poutine, tater tot nachos, Hot Cheetos chili pie, and elote-topped, bacon-wrapped corn dogs, along with new cocktails and an outpost of Chick-Fil-A.

Japanese sandos debut in Downtown

After a couple of years of trending worldwide, Instagram-worthy Japanese sandwiches have finally landed in Downtown Dallas. D Magazine reports that No Aloha, the cafe inside ritzy department store Forty Five Ten, is now serving three different Japanese “sandos,” including a chicken katsu sando topped with veggie slaw and a tamago (egg omelet) sando that’s slathered with Kewpie mayo.
