Materials
- Yogurt Dough: You can achieve softer and slightly sour-flavored fritters by adding 1/2 cup of yogurt instead of plain water.
- Milk Dough: Using milk instead of lukewarm water makes the fritters creamier and sweeter.
- Whole Wheat or Mixed Flour: You can make more nutritious and fiber-rich fritters by using whole wheat flour or a white flour/whole wheat mixture instead of white flour.
- Airfryer Fried Dough: For a less oily version, you can cook the fried dough in an airfryer at 180–200°C for 10–12 minutes.
- Baked Turkish Delight (Pişi): Roll the dough into balls, arrange them on a lightly greased baking sheet, and bake at 200°C for 12–15 minutes; wait until the tops are lightly browned.
- Spicy Fried Dough: You can create different flavors by adding some thyme, red pepper flakes, or sesame seeds to the dough.
- Sweet Fried Dough: You can make sweet fried dough by adding vanilla, cinnamon, or a small amount of sugar to the dough; sprinkling powdered sugar on top also enhances the flavor.
