- 250 gr thinly sliced beef (preferably tenderloin or ribeye)
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of sugar or honey
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1 clove of garlic (grated)
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon grated onion
- 2 cups of rice (Korean or Japanese short-grain)
- 2 1/2 cups of water
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 4–5 nori (seaweed) sheets
- 1 carrot (thinly julienned)
- 1/2 cucumber (long thin strip)
- 2-3 sprigs of green onions
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (for topping)
- You can enhance the flavor by adding sesame seeds and sesame oil.
- You can sprinkle finely chopped fresh scallions or sesame seeds on top of the rolls when serving.
Method · 40 min
- 1. Marinate thinly sliced meat in soy sauce, sugar/honey, sesame oil, garlic, black pepper, and grated onion for 10–15 minutes.
- 2. Wash and drain the rice, then cook it with 2 1/2 cups of water.
- 3. Add salt and sesame oil to the cooked rice.
- 4. Slice the carrots and cucumbers thinly into julienne strips; you can sauté them lightly if desired.
- 5. Sauté the marinated meat in a pan over high heat for 3–5 minutes, being careful not to overcook it.
- 6. Place the nori sheet on the bamboo mat, spread the rice thinly over it, leaving 1–2 cm of space around the edges.
- 7. Place the bulgogi, carrots, cucumbers, and green onions in the center of the rice.
- 8. Using a bamboo mat, tightly roll up the nori sheet.
- 9. Slice the roll with a sharp knife, lightly moistening the knife.
- 10. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
- 11. Enjoy your meal.
