Everyday paella in just 35 minutes with chicken drumsticks and chorizo

Chicken drumsticks (small, about 200 g each)

Ingredients · Servings 6
  • 1 rote Zwiebel
  • 1 rote Paprikaschote
  • 2 Knoblauchzehe
  • 100 g Chorizo-Wurst
  • 2 El Olivenöl
  • 6 Hähnchenkeule
  • 250 g Risotto-Reis
  • 1 Tl geräuchertes edelsüßes Paprikapulver
  • 750 ml Hühnerbrühe
  • 8 Stiele Petersilie
  • 1 Bio-Zitrone
  • 100 g Erbse
Method · 35 min
  1. Rote Zwiebel in feine Würfel schneiden. Rote Paprika putzen und in Würfel schneiden. Knoblauchzehen in hauchdünne Scheiben schneiden. Chorizo-Wurst in Würfel schneiden.
  • Finely dice the red onion. Clean and dice the red bell pepper. Slice the garlic cloves paper-thin. Dice the chorizo sausage.
  • Heat olive oil in a high-sided pan and fry ready-to-cook chicken drumsticks for 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown, then remove.
  • Fry the chorizo in a pan for about 2-3 minutes. Add the onion, bell pepper, and garlic and mix. Add the risotto rice and paprika, mix in, and sauté briefly. Pour in the chicken broth and stir. Arrange the chicken drumsticks in a radial pattern on top of the rice and vegetable mixture. Bring the paella to a boil and simmer, covered, over low heat for 15 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, wash the parsley, trim the stems, and finely chop the leaves. Wash the organic lemon and cut it into eighths.
  • Add the frozen peas to the pan and cook the paella for another 5 minutes. Sprinkle the finished paella with parsley and serve with the lemon wedges.
