St. Francis's tart, a delicious shortcrust pastry with cherry jam

The San Francesco tart is a delicate shortcrust pastry tart with cherry jam and a dusting of icing sugar, if desired.

There are just a few steps to make a delicious and simple dessert like this, using simple, wholesome ingredients found in the cupboard and refrigerator. Easy even for beginners, with perfect results!

Ingredients

  • 250 g 00 flour
  • 60 g Sugar
  • 80 g Butter
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • half a sachet of baking powder
  • 1uovo
  • cherry jam

Prepare the shortcrust pastry by thoroughly combining the flour, eggs, and sugar. Mix until smooth, then add the yeast and a tablespoon of milk. Mix well and wrap the dough in plastic wrap. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Once the time has passed, roll it out with a rolling pin and place it in a greased cake pan. Set aside a piece to cut into strips. Fill it with cherry jam and then crisscross the strips over it. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 25 minutes. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired.
