Tofu Sticks

Tofu Sticks

Tofu is rich in protein, which is essential for building and maintaining muscle. Furthermore, this soy product provides us with plenty of iron. This trace element is important for blood formation and oxygen transport in the body.

Ingredients · Servings 4
  • 400 g Tofu
  • 100g wholegrain breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika powder
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt
  • Pfeffer
  • 4 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 150 ml soy drink (soy milk)
  • 1 organic lime
  • 0.5 bunch of parsley (10 g)
  • 200 g soy yogurt
  • 1 cayenne pepper socket
Method · 30 min
  1. Drain the tofu and cut it into 2 cm thick strips. In a bowl, mix whole-wheat breadcrumbs, paprika, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Place cornstarch and soy milk in separate bowls.
  2. First coat the tofu strips in starch, then in soy milk, and finally in the breadcrumb mixture. Place the strips on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (200°C for conventional oven; gas mark 3-4) for 10 minutes until crispy.
  3. For the dip, rinse the lime with hot water, dry it, zest it, and squeeze the juice from half a lime. Wash the parsley, shake it dry, and chop it finely. Put the soy yogurt in a bowl and stir in the parsley, salt, cayenne pepper, lime juice, and zest.
  4. Remove the tofu sticks from the oven and serve with the dip.

The tofu sticks taste great on their own as an appetizer, but they also make a delicious main course. Our broccoli stir-fry or sautéed snow peas and whole-grain basmati rice will then provide a satisfying meal and an extra dose of fiber, vitamins, and minerals.

  • ½ bunch of parsley (10 g)
