Honey prawns
Honey prawns are a delight with their spicy, sweet and savory marinade. This recipe is quick to grill and tastes wonderfully aromatic.
Ingredients · Servings 4
- 800g prawns (peeled, ready to cook)
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 100 g Honey
- 70 ml extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp sweet paprika powder
- 70 ml dry sherry
- 3 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp thyme (chopped)
- 3. The Worcestersauce
Method · 1 h 20 min
- First, thoroughly mix the honey with the paprika powder, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, chopped thyme, chili powder, extra virgin olive oil and sherry.
- Rinse the shrimp under cold water, pat dry thoroughly with paper towels, and mix with the marinade. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator for about 1 hour.
- Then remove the shrimp from the refrigerator and preheat the oven to the grill setting at approximately 220°C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Now remove the shrimp from the marinade, let them drain slightly and arrange them side by side on the prepared baking sheet.
- Then grill the shrimp on one of the top racks for about 3 minutes, turn them over and grill for another 2-3 minutes until they are pink and just cooked through.
- Finally, remove the honey prawns from the oven and serve immediately.
