Faworki. Croatian Faworki

Faworki. Croatian Faworki

Kroštule. Croatian angel wings. Served year-round, a very popular dessert. In taste, appearance, and preparation—they resemble angel wings or chrusty. So what? Angel wings or angel wings? Let's call them angel wings.

Ingredients

  • approx. 30 dag of wheat flour
  • 6 egg yolks
  • 2 tablespoons of ricotta cheese
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3 tablespoons of powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of spirit

Mix all ingredients and knead into a pliable dough. Shape into a ball.

Beat the dough with a rolling pin until air bubbles form (approx. 10 minutes).

Place the "compacted" dough in the refrigerator for at least half an hour.

Roll out the dough from the fridge thinly (about 3 mm), and cut it with a pastry wheel or knife (I used a pizza cutter) into rectangles approximately 3 x 6 cm. I made them larger and the result was giant wafers. Fry in hot (190-200 degrees Celsius) oil (e.g., in a deep fryer).

Place the removed wafers on kitchen paper, and when they have cooled, sprinkle generously with powdered sugar. Happy Fat Thursday!
