Homemade Esíčka smells lovely with cinnamon. You can make them in just 15 minutes and without cutting them out

Do you remember the fragrant cinnamon Esíčka? You can easily bake your favorite retro cookies at home. You don't have to cut anything out, you just pipe the soft buttery dough onto a baking sheet with a pastry bag and bake them in just a few minutes.

Esíčka are a well-known retro cookie that has been enjoyed by several generations. You can make a homemade version from a few common ingredients and add cinnamon and vanilla for a typical aroma. You can make approximately 55 small cookies from one batch.

How to make homemade cinnamon Esíčka

  • For one batch of Esíček cinnamon cookies, prepare
  • 125 g of softened butter
  • 70 g of powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 200 g of plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • Line two baking sheets with baking paper and preheat the oven to 180°C.
  • Beat the softened butter with the powdered sugar until foamy. Add the eggs, cinnamon and vanilla extract and beat everything thoroughly.
  • Sift the plain flour together with the baking powder. Add the flour mixture to the butter base and mix well.
  • Transfer the dough to a pastry bag and shape approximately 3.5 cm large S letters onto a baking sheet. Place the cookies in the preheated oven and bake for 10–15 minutes.
  • Let the baked Esíčka cool and then store them in a sealable container.
