We tried the preparation
According to videos circulating on the Internet, to make edible glitter at home, you only need a few available ingredients. Rice paper sheets (you can get them from an Asian grocery store), food coloring in the form of gel, liquid or powder, a bowl of clean water, baking paper or a silicone mat for drying, and finally a blender or regular scissors to grind the dried paper into glitter. We got everything and started testing.
Procedure:
Preparing the paper We broke the rice paper into quarters - smaller pieces dye better and dry faster.
Water coloring We poured some water into a bowl and added a few drops of food coloring, we chose purple. Don't be afraid to overdo it with the color, as the paper will lighten after it dries.
Soaking the paper We dipped the pieces of paper into the dyed water and let them soften, then took them out immediately. This is important, as soaking for too long will make the paper “mushy”.
Drying We placed the colored paper on baking paper and let it dry for 24 hours. The goal was to make the paper completely dry and brittle.
Mixing We put the dry pieces in a blender and ground them into glitter.

It's great for cakes, delicious cupcakes, sundaes or desserts in a glass. You can sprinkle it lightly on cream, buttercream or ganache to create a festive look without the hassle of decorating. If you moisten it with a light syrup or sugar water, it can even stick to the rims of cocktail glasses.
