Simple banana cake

Simple banana cake

Check out my great recipe for a simple banana cake. This simple banana cake was born from the need to use up bananas that had been sitting around for a while. These bananas are best used to bake a banana cake with oil or butter. Chocolate also goes well with bananas.

Additionally, to make the banana cake: a medium baking tray or a bundt pan, breadcrumbs (if you don't use baking paper), and optionally powdered sugar to dust the cake after baking.

All ingredients should be at room temperature. Sift the flour, baking powder, and baking soda into one bowl. In another bowl, combine the sugar, softened margarine, and eggs. Beat the ingredients with a mixer until smooth.

Gradually add the flour mixture. Mix briefly on low speed. The batter will be quite thick. Add the bananas, lightly mashed with a fork (mine were so ripe, I added them to the bowl immediately while mixing). Mix all ingredients until combined.

Grease the inside of a springform pan with the remaining margarine, then dust with breadcrumbs. If using a regular, oblong pan, grease it with margarine and line it with baking paper. Transfer the dough from the bowl to the pan.

Place the cake pan in a preheated oven at 170 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for about 40-50 minutes. Bake without convection until a toothpick inserted into the pan comes out clean. After cooling on a wire rack, you can lightly dust the cake with powdered sugar.

Enjoy your meal.
