Chevabčiči

Small meatballs from Balkan cuisine called čevabčiči are not at all complicated and all you need is minced meat, you probably have the rest at home. Serve čevabčiči with chopped onion, mustard and bread or potatoes.

Ingredients · Servings 4
  • 500 g minced meat
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1-2 cloves of garlic
  • 1 large onion
  • ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • hot pepper
  • marjoram
  • oil
Method · 40 min
  1. Peel the onion, chop finely and mix with the meat.
  2. Add the other ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  3. Shape the mixed mixture into a brick shape and let it cool in the refrigerator for about an hour.
  4. After cooling, cut 2-3 cm thick slices from the solidified mixture and shape them into rolls.
  5. Bake in a pan with a little oil or on the grill, turning constantly.
  6. Serve with onions, mustard and potatoes or bread.
