- 10 tablespoons of granulated sugar
- 40 g of filtered organic orange juice and its grated zest
- a sachet of baking powder
- half a cup of semi-skimmed milk
- 70 ml of corn oil
- 2 and 2/3 cups of cake flour
- to complete
- frying oil
- powdered sugar to taste
Amusement park fritters, procedure
Mix the grated orange zest with the sugar, then stir in the milk and then the flour, spoonfuls at a time. Stir in the oil, orange juice, and yeast. Mix all the ingredients until you have a smooth, elastic dough. Let it rest for 10 minutes, covered with a cloth.
Once the required time has passed, divide the dough into ten equal portions and shape them into ten balls. Flatten them to form fritters. Fry them in a nonstick pan with hot oil, turning them halfway through cooking to ensure even browning. Once cooked, drain the fritters and let them dry on paper towels before tossing them in sugar. Serve hot.
