Airfryer Meatballs

Airfryer Meatballs

Swedish meatballs are a cult dish. Many of us learned about them in early childhood, when we encountered the fairy tale about Karlsson-on-the-Roof. He loved not only to play pranks but also to eat, especially those very same meatballs, as Astrid Lindgren mentions repeatedly in her book.

Ingredients · Servings 2
  • Minced meat
  • Onions
  • Chicken egg
  • Refined vegetable oil
  • Garlic
  • Ground sweet paprika
  • Salt
  • Ground black pepper
Method · 10 min
  1. Finely chop the onion. Press the garlic through a garlic press. Add the onion and garlic to the prepared ground meat, previously placed in a bowl. In this recipe, we suggest using a mixed ground meat (beef and pork), but you can use any other type of ground meat, including chicken.
  2. Beat in an egg. Add ground paprika, salt, and pepper to taste. Knead the meatball mixture for about ten minutes until it becomes viscous. Let it rest, covered with plastic wrap, for 10 minutes.
  3. Form the minced meat into small meatballs. To prevent it from sticking to your hands, wet them periodically with cold water. Place the meatballs in a bowl. Drizzle with oil and gently toss to distribute the oil evenly.
  4. Place the meatballs on the middle or bottom rack of the air fryer in a single layer, leaving a small gap of about 0.5 cm between them to allow hot air to circulate freely. Cook for 20 minutes at 190–200°C. Turn the meatballs over after 10 minutes to ensure a more even crust.
