Since October, the Bear’s Jeremy Allen White has been spending a bit of time in Hoboken visiting coffee shops — having hit up at least nine different destinations since the fall. Far from a coffee snob, he has even visited a Dunkin’.

Gjelina is back in action

After a fire shuttered the restaurant last January — the same month it opened — Los Angeles import Gjelina (45 Bond Street at Bowery Street) is open for breakfast and brunch, with dishes like mushroom toast and Moroccan-baked eggs. Hours are 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday to Friday, and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The restaurant says there are no reservations at the moment; only walk-ins.

You can now stream the Veselka documentary, Veselka: The Rainbow on the Corner at the Center of the World. The film has narration by David Duchovny, direction by Michael Fiore, and musical interludes featuring saxophonist David Sanborn. The doc, which first played in theaters in February, shows how the restaurant mobilized to aid Ukraine. Last week, the filmmakers learned the film is eligible for consideration in the Documentary Feature Film category for the 97th Academy Awards. The restaurant celebrates its 70th anniversary this year.
