Garlic butter baguette

Garlic butter baguette

To make the garlic butter baguette, wash the whole head of garlic, but do not peel it, just cut it in half, drizzle the cut surface with oil, season with salt and pepper and wrap them tightly in aluminum foil. Place on a baking sheet and bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for about 35 minutes.

Place the butter in a bowl. Press in the garlic cloves that have been fried until creamy, season with salt, pepper and sprinkle with oregano, then mix thoroughly. Place in the fridge for approx. 10 minutes to cool to a pliable consistency, then spoon onto cling film and roll up like a candy wrapper. Place the resulting stick of butter in the freezer and freeze until hard in 10-15 minutes.

Cut the baguettes into three-quarters of the way, 1.5 cm apart – be careful not to cut all the way to the bottom, as this will cause them to break. Unwrap the thawed spiced butter and cut into slices, which you press into the cuts in the baguette. Place the filled baguettes on a baking tray lined with baking paper and bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 12-15 minutes.
