Lost Lantern unveils 10-strong George Dickel Collection
Vermont-based independent bottler Lost Lantern has revealed its first collection devoted entirely to a single distillery.
“Our mission has always been to shine a light on wonderful whiskies from all across the country,”
Lost Lantern’s Fall 2026 collection features 10 bottlings, including 18-year-old Tennessee whiskey, rye, wheat whiskey, and Bourbon.
All whiskeys are sourced from Diageo’s Cascade Hollow Distilling Co, better known as George Dickel Distillery, located in Tullahoma, Tennessee.
The collection follows the bottler’s release of United States of Bourbon, the ‘first’ blend that combines Bourbon from all 50 US states in one bottle.
For the new collection, Lost Lantern co-founders Nora Ganley-Roper and Adam Polonski worked closely with Nicole Austin, George Dickel master distiller and director of American whiskey liquid development at Diageo, to choose casks that showcase a ‘lesser-known side’ of the distillery.
“Our mission has always been to shine a light on wonderful whiskies from all across the country,” said Polonski, head of whiskey sourcing for Lost Lantern.
“From the beginning, we’ve always said we’d be open to working with a large, well-known heritage distillery, as long as we had something to add to the conversation about that distillery and could work with them the same way we work with small distilleries: working directly with their team, tasting every barrel before we select it, and being fully transparent about the source right on the label. We had that opportunity with George Dickel.”
According to Ganley-Roper, general manager and head blender at Lost Lantern, the company didn’t know about the wide range of George Dickel whiskeys before collaborating with Austin.
She also describes the collection as “the ultimate whiskey nerd’s take on one of the giants of American whiskey”.
All releases in the collection are cask strength, non-chill-filtered, and contain no added colour.
The Lost Lantern Fall 2026 George Dickel Collection will be available starting Wednesday, 21 October, via the brand’s website, Seelbachs, and at select retailers in California, New York, Massachusetts, and Illinois.
The releases are also available at the Lost Lantern Tasting Room in Vergennes, Vermont.
The whiskies
The George Dickel Collection features three releases in Lost Lantern’s Single Distillery Series, all available in the company’s standard markets.
Fabled Forest George Dickel Tennessee Whiskey is an 11-year-old expression that blends 11- to 18-year-old whiskies from seven casks. It is bottled at 26.6% ABV and limited to 815 bottles. Each 750ml bottle retails for US$99.99.
Wild Woodland is a straight rye bottled at 59.15% ABV. The seven-year-old whiskey is a marriage of five casks. It is limited to 664 bottles, priced at US$79.99 each.
The last in the Single Distillery Series is Golden Grove. The 100% wheat whiskey was drawn from six casks aged between four and seven years. It sits at 60% ABV, is limited to 677 bottles and retails for US$79.99.
The collection also includes a diverse selection of single cask whiskeys, representing seven distinct styles. Because of their limited availability, many of the single cask bottlings are exclusive to individual retailers.
George Dickel Tennessee Whiskey 11 Years Old is made from 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malt and aged in a new oak barrel. The release is limited to two single casks and retails for US$79.99 per bottle.
Made with the same mash bill as its 11-year-old counterpart, George Dickel Tennessee Whiskey 18 Years Old was drawn from four single casks. It retails for US$249.99.
George Dickel Straight Bourbon Whiskey 10 Years Old Not Charcoal Mellowed is made from 75% corn, 21% rye, and 4% malt. Limited to two casks, the release retails for US$99.99.
Tennessee Whiskey 10 Years Old Groovy Staves is the collection’s smallest release, limited to only one cask. It was aged in a cask made with grooved staves. The retail price for the bottling is US$119.99.
George Dickel Straight Rye Whiskey 7 Years Old was made with a mash bill of 84% rye, 8% corn, and 8% malt and aged for seven years in a new oak barrel. The price for the bottling is US$89.99. Only four casks are made available.
The distillery’s 100% wheat 7 Years Old straight whiskey release by Lost Lantern covers two casks. It retails for US$89.99 per bottle.
The collection closes with George Dickel Tennessee Light Whiskey 8 Years Old, drawn from two casks, and represents a previously unreleased style from George Dickel. The whiskey is made with 84% corn, 8% rye, and 8% malt, aged for eight years in a used oak barrel. It’s priced at US$79.99.
Last year, Diageo halted whiskey production at Balcones and George Dickel distilleries, costing 17 jobs.
