Crumble pie with apples

If you fancy apple pie, it can be made very easily with a crumble pie or apple crumble. Crumble pie with apples is fantastic. Served with generous amounts of rich custard, there is nothing that beats the combination of baked juicy, soft apples and a crispy and golden crust.

Ingredients · Servings 8
  • 5 pieces of apple
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 100g butter
  • 100g sugar
  • 80 g wheat flour
  • 80 g oatmeal
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar
Method · 45 min
  1. Peel and core the apples and cut them into even cubes or thin slices.
  2. Mix the apples with sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice and raisins.
  3. Grease a suitable ovenproof dish with 1 tablespoon of butter and pour in the apple filling.
  4. Crumble together all the ingredients for the shortcrust pastry and sprinkle the dough over the apple filling.
  5. Bake the crumble pie at 200 degrees for about 25 minutes or until the topping is golden and crispy.
  6. Serve hot or lukewarm, preferably topped with a thick homemade vanilla sauce.
