Salsa Martini Sucia

This Dirty Martini Dip is packed with blue cheese and olives; all the flavors of the classic cocktail, but made into a creamy dip! Perfect for dipping chips, pretzels, crackers, or crostini!

What is dirty martini dip?

Dirty martini dip is a twist on the classic cocktail that’s made with gin or vodka, vermouth, and olive juice. This dip, however, contains no alcohol, so it’s absolutely safe for kids to eat (yes, my kids love olives). Made with cream cheese, extra olives, and blue cheese, this dip is absolutely filthy! .

Why you’ll love this

Salty, brine-y, savory. If you’re a salty, umami lover, then you’ll absolutely love this creamy dip.

Perfect for parties. Everybody loves dips at parties and this dip requires no cooking and one bowl!

Customizable. Do you like a dirty martini or a filthy martini? By adding more or less olives/blue cheese, you get to decide how dirty this dip is!

Sour Cream – full fat will give the best flavor and texture, however, light may be used instead. Greek yogurt may also be used, but the texture don’t be as creamy and the flavor will likely be tangier.

Cream Cheese – again, full fat will give the best flavor and texture, but light cream cheese may also be used.

Mayonnaise – I always use an olive oil based mayo, but full-fat, light, avocado oil based, etc. may be used. You’re only using two tablespoons, so it’s not a super strong flavor, but you should still use brand (Duke’s vs Hellman’s, etc.) that you like the taste of. If absolutely necessary, you can omit the mayo.

Lemon Juice – freshly squeezed or a bottled variety is fine.

Spices: Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Salt, and Pepper – feel free to add more or less of each spice. I like dried spices here, because fresh would be too overpowering.

Olives – I used Mezzetta Spanish Queen Olives stuffed with pimiento. There is a variety that’s marinated in vermouth for a more traditional flavor if you’re not concerned about the dip containing alcohol. Garlic stuffed, jalapeno stuffed, blue cheese stuffed, Castelvetrano, etc. would also be delicious.

Blue Cheese – crumbled blue cheese or gorgonzola will give you a strong, salty/savory flavor. If blue cheese isn’t your thing, try crumbled feta or even crumbled goat cheese.

Visual walk-through

Mix sour cream, cream cheese, mayo, olive brine, lemon juice, and spices together in a large bowl.

Stir in olives and blue cheese.

Chill, then enjoy!

What to serve with dirty martini dip

Anything crispy and crunchy like kettle chips, pretzel crisps, crostinis (thinly sliced and toasted bread) and crackers make a great vessel for this dip!

Does martini dip contain alcohol?

No. There is no alcohol in this dip. (Unless you’re using olives marinated in vermouth.)

Tips

Adjust the olives and/or blue cheese. Adding more olives/blue cheese will make “dirtier”. Start with a little of both and add more to taste. I ended up using a whole jar of olives and an entire container of blue cheese.

Chill overnight. The flavor intensifies as it sits, so I love making this the night before I’m ready to serve.

How to store

Leftovers will last in a sealed airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
